Manual Adjustments
There are a variety of techniques now in use by
chiropractors to aid in the adjustment of their patients.
However, the original method developed by Dr. D.
D. Palmer is the manual adjustment.
A manual adjustment is typically performed on a
special chiropractic table and relief is often noticeable
immediately. Chiropractic adjustments often take between
10-15 minutes, but can be longer if there is a significant
amount of soft tissue (i.e. tendon, ligament or muscular)
constriction. Longer adjustments can range from 20-45
minutes, and often incorporate a combination of other
therapies which help reduce the tension in the soft tissues.
A manual adjustment consists of a firm, yet gentle,
corrective movement of the neck, mid or lower back. A
corrective mobilization is used to rectify an extremity
(i.e., rib, shoulder, wrist, elbow, hip, knee, or ankle)
which is fixated. Manual adjustments, when performed
correctly, allow a degree of finesse not usually found with
any technological device, such as activator.
At Health Matters,
Dr. Bulmash often uses a combination of both manual and
Pro-Adjuster techniques to resolve any subluxation pattern.
An adjustment at our office is literally from “head to toe.”
The cost of a chiropractic adjustment may range from
$35-50 for children and seniors, to $50 and up
for teens and adults. Fees are based upon the complexity of
the case and the amount of time needed to resolve the issue.
Please note: Health
Matters does not have a direct relationship with any
insurance company. We will provide you with the proper
documentation necessary to submit to your insurance company
for reimbursement.
